PhilNITS Examinees Pass Fundamental IT Engineer Exam

Tagbilaran City - Two Boholanos passed the PhilNITS Fundamental IT Engineer Examination at the Holy Name University held on October 28, 2008.  More than twenty examinees took the exams, mostly graduating students from HNU.  Jerome Auza and Chylene Pacatang, both working for MfgVision, Ltd., were the first examinees to pass the examinations held in Bohol since PhilNITS started to hold examinations here in 2005.  Other Boholanos also passed but they took the exams in Cebu or Manila.  A complete list of passers is published by PhilNITS on this link: http://www.philnits.org/passers.html#Oct07Fe

Jerome Auza is a graduate of Divine Word College High School Department and received his BS ECE degree from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City.  He also holds a Diploma in Business Administration from De La Salled University - Dasmarinas.  He works as the Director of Manufacturing Systems for MfgVision, Ltd., and is also the Technology Consultant for Auza.Net, a technology firm in Bohol.

Chylene Pacatang hails from CVSCAFT and received her BS CompE degree in March 2007.  Pacatang underwent a rigorous on-the-job (OJT) program at Auza.Net during her senior year.  She works as a software developer for MfgVision, Ltd.

HNU Alumni bares New Programs

The Holy Name University Alumni Association-Tagbilaran, Inc. conducted a historic Visioning and Strategic Direction Setting workshop on July 4, 2007 at the HNU Alumni Center. With the efficient facilitation of the HNU Research Center through its Research Associate, Ms. Josephine Cimeni, the association was able to clarify its priorities for the next two years. The workshop was participated by all members of the BOD and the Director of the HNU Alumni Center, Ms. Eury Gutierez.The Vision Statement crafted during the workshop mirrors an association committed to pursue “ a self-sustaining organization of goal-centered leaders pursuing relevant and responsive programs for the sustainable development of a humane community”. The new BOD also came up with priority programs, namely: Alumni Welfare, Organizational Strengthening, Outreach, Fund-sourcing and Promotions.

At present, the association is solely dependent upon the collection of the Alumni Fees from graduating students every semester to finance its operations. To sustain its programs, the association has launched the search for the HNU Alumni Diamond Jubilee King and Queen with the following objectives:
1.To raise funds to finance the various programs of the association, including the forthcoming Diamond Jubilee Homecoming in February 2008;
2.To reach out to as many alumni as possible; thus, enhancing relationship and bonding; and
3.To animate the February 2008 Alumni Homecoming, which also marks the School’s Diamond Year celebration.

HNU Alumni Elects New Officers

The Holy Name Alumni Association-Tagbilaran, Inc., a SEC-registered non-stock non-profit association, is now under a new set of officers who were elected on May 26, 2007.

Fourteen alumnae were chosen to compose the Board of Directors half of which will serve a full two-year term while the other half will be in for a year.
